Falls Creek
Falls Creek Alpine Resort is a picturesque European-style village, set between 1600m - 1700m above sea level on the edge of the Bogong High Plains. The highest peak, being the 1810m Frying Pan Spur, combined with North & East facing slopes, forms a protected bowl-shaped area providing a valley of the excellent slopes for all standards of skiers and snowboarders. Falls Creek Village is nestled within this protected area. The Southern slopes offers a huge area of terrain for all standards, which are inclined to maintain the snow cover longer as they are more protected from the sun. In most snow conditions guests can ski or board from their accommodation to a chair lift and back again via a home trail. A free Village Shuttle service operates on a regular basis and is available for use by on-mountain guests throughout their stay. With over 450 hectares of terrain and more than 92 runs to explore we are Victoria's largest resort, offering a huge variety of beginner-friendly trails including Wombats Ramble, Australia's longest beginner run and maintain the country's best progressive intermediate terrain. Serviced by 15 lifts, Resort slopes are made up of 33% Beginner, 48% Intermediate and 19% Advanced. Falls Creek provides well groomed beginners runs up to 2.2km long, a varied intermediate terrain, steep advanced runs, snowboarding terrain parks, plus a ski run of 3km for experienced skiers. There is also an excellent cross-country trail network, boasting more than 60km of groomed trails, a terrain park, beginners practice area plus a variety of groomed loops ranging from 1-20 kilometres in length.
Heli-Link to and from Mt Hotham available, weather permitting, same lift pass usable on either mountain.
Designated 2010 Ski Season Dates : Friday 11/6/10 - Sunday 3/10/10. Lifts commence operation 12/6/10 conditions permitting.

Facilities and Services on the Mountain The village is usually closed to normal vehicles to enable ski-in, ski-out conditions. An Oversnow snow taxi transfer between the car park area/coach terminal and most accommodation venues may be required on arrival & departure. Post office, police, medical centre, pharmacy, ambulance service, information centre, newsagency, gift shops, supermarkets, bakery, video hire, internet cafe, ski hire & ski repair outlets, toboggan hire, snow shoeing, night skiing, snowmobile tours, ski school, ski patrol and a choice of 25 places to dine out from cosy bistros to a full a-la-carte restaurants, cocktail bars and nightspots with live entertainment. Snowmaking There are excellent snowmaking facilities covering 110 hectares of the resort providing Victoria's most reliable snow. Our snow making received a huge boost recently with Wombats Ramble now on-line. Top to bottom snow making and grooming means a reliable all season home trail.
